The Restore New York Communities Initiative (“Restore NY”) provides municipalities with grant funds to revitalize residential, commercial and mixed-use properties. The program is focused on renovating abandoned, condemned, surplus or vacant properties in economically distressed communities and aims to induce commercial investment and increase the housing stock in downtowns across New York State.
This is the sixth round of this grant program and NYS Department of State is investing $250 million state-wide. Malone is eligible for up to $2 million and can apply for an additional $10 million as a special project. The current round of applications are due October 11th and the next round will be due in January. For more information about the program, please see the Restore NY website.
